what word does col Brynner use in the cafe?

when col Brynner is released he goes to see Doc in the cafe. During their conversation brynner says 'your speed is nothing short of --------. Does anybody know what the blank is. I cant uderstand what the word is but i assume in the context it is used it means slow but i could'nt find the word in the dictionary. Any articulate people out there know what the word is?
