Are there any differences between the US and Japanese version?

As far as I can tell, there are two dubs of this movie - the "original" Japanese dub and the US dub. And there's about five minutes of difference in length between the two. Is this just that PAL/NTSC thing where the speed of the titles is different depending on which system its for or did they actually cut something from the US version?
