That the actors/actresses in Byker have acted in little to nothing else since they were in Byker?...odd!

Actress who plays Sian is in Emmerdale. She's been in it for a while now.

Most of them "acted" in Byker when they were at school... few of them probably had ambitions to be "proper" actors once leaving school and most of them probably went to uni/college and got on with their lives after leaving Byker, never giving acting a second thought.

Most "actors" in byker were just local schoolkids

Out of the hundreds and hundreds of actors that played kids in Byker Grove and Grange Hill over the decades, very few of them got a break and went on to something big.

I think Zammo from Grange Hill is a locksmith, Immelda Davies is an estate agent, and Robbie Right, recently got released from prison. Fey Lucas (who aged kinda well) is an Essex housewife.

Yeah; out of the children in Byker Grove (the adults who acted in it are professional actors), very few have gone on to anything, but it is better that they went back to finish their education and go to Uni - if a full-time actor isn't acting, they aren't earning, but if they have other skills and qualifications to fall back on, they have at least something of a safety net.

The kids who did go on to other work after Byker are, to the best of my knowledge... (and I think this is all of them)...:

Ant & Dec (obviously)
Donna Air (Still acts, and is a presenter cable TV presenter too I think)
Andrew Hayden Smith (also gone into presenting, and appeared in Dr Who)
Jill Halfpenny (long string of acting credits)
