Most shocking moment on Byker Grove.

I thought the cliffhanger of the 1992 seaason was the most shocking moment on Byker Grove, where PJ got shot paint in his eyes in the paintball match, when he foolishly removed his goggles, trying to save Duncan, which caused him to go blind. That was so shocking, especially seeing PJ on the ground in agony, helpless. That was terrible.

Yeah, I was 10 when I saw that and it really freaked me out. The next series was really sad too when he was struggling with his blindness. He went from being a really cheery character to a sad, bitter bloke.

When Gemma was electrocuted OR when Angel caught her little sister Bridgette snogging her husband.

The most shocking moment was how surprised everyone was when Bradley came out...

When Geoff died, so PJ and Duncan came back for the funeral, along with a whole load of other characters. Hey...I started watching this in about 1995 or thereabouts, so I didn't witness PJ's blindness storyline, although it sounded like a great one to me.

Most Shocking and surprising was when Gill nicked the BMW and killed himself by driving it under a a Lorry at end of Series 2, Yikes!! Shame we never got to see the aftermath via a Casualty Spin Off, still, it was 1990, doubt they had thot of that then!!

Waaaaaaaay too many to choose from!!! I was too young to remember PJ and Duncan but from what i've seen, geoff died, greg ended up in a wheel chair, paul got found with a gun in the bag anddddd ben died!
This programme did really rule though i loved it!!

when Bill fell from the train station platform. it freaked me out! it was in the same episode where Ben died but i knew he was gonna die so i wasn't so shocked about that, but Bill's scenes were so shocking!

PJ going blind was shocking too but i never saw Geoff dying.

Did Geoff die at the end of season 11, with his funeral at the start of the following season?

Surely it's when Geoff man, dressed as Gary Glitter sings Do you want to be in my gang', can't remember which series it was, sometime from early to mid ninties I think, for a series finale.

When it went from being a cool dramatic soap opera to a nonsenseical show with horrid effects. (Around 2005/6)

all these are bringing it all back! Stared watching about 95 (series 7) but taped series 1-6 that was shown on some dodgy cable channel around 96. Geoff died about 5 episodes into series 12 (2000), at the end of series 11 that was when greg fell off the grove roof and you didnt know what had happened to him til series 12, i'd say all the above that have been mentioned. I'd have to say the gary/noddy "kiss" as to all the furore in the tabloids after it. The last series was pretty shocking by all accounts but not for the right reasons.

The multi-story car park was Antoni in Series 3 of Grange Hill, around 1980.

my earliest memory is watching pj getting blinded... classic moment. think i must have been about 6 or 7 at the time.
one of my mates got a line in byker grove, it was a scene with greg on a hill outside and he got to say 'here mate- do you want a push'. can't remember if he actualy pushed him down the hill or not though.
also visited the grove because i had an audition for the programme- its exactly the same inside as on tv. it was so brill!

Without doubt PJ getting blinded is probably the most shocking moment in kids TV history. I remember watching it the first time around as a kid & it really upset & scared me. It was totally unexpected as they were playing paintball in an old castle so I assumed someone would fall off something but they threw that in & it was shocking.

I recently watched it again for the first time in ages & still found it shocking. I know it sounds silly but even though I knew it was coming I still found my heart pounding a little just before he pulls off his goggles to shout to that idiot Noddy who wasnt paying attention to what was happening.

PJ getting blinded in that paintball match was indeed the most shocking moment in the show's history. It was also shocking when Gemma Dobson was killed when she was fatally electrocuted.
