The one likeable character in this movie.

Sadly, I only thought the best friend Peggy, played by Joan Cusack, was likeable, mainly because she was so down to earth and forgiving of Maggie's (Julia Roberts) b.s. Everybody else in that town was self-involved and opportunistic. Maggie's family were awful, so quickly selling out to the reporter who threw her under the bus because he brought a bottle of wine, and betting on her weddings. Her other supposed friends, making constant snide remarks and jokes to remind her of her humiliation. Her ex fiancée in the bar, trashing her (yes he was drunk and no doubt hurt, but he did this a second time even after he knew the reporter was after her, he came across as a jerk), and the townspeople in general who viewed Maggie as a joke and a spectacle. Lastly, Maggie herself was a piece of work with the way she treated her fiancees, wasted her dad's money on four weddings, and broke into the guy's room to steal his stuff -- criminal.

Were we supposed to root for anybody here? I root for Peggy and her guy to move far away and live happily ever after away from Maggie's self-involved drama and "quirkiness".

This might have been a decent rom com, but the writers forgot to make even the main characters redeemable. And no, Julia Roberts' cuteness doesn't make up for her horrible character's flaws.

Lol, I love the Grandma too. Grandma: "I like his tight butt!" And then I liked when she was trying to give Maggie the sex talk. Lol!

Okay maybe grandma was alright ;)
