Different version of the 'Hell' performance

I recently got an audio of the "Hell" performance, but I noticed that the dialogue was much different from the one in "Rowan Atkinson Live". It was most definitely delivered in England, hence had quite a few differences. The main differences were:

1) The reference to the French ( "...the French, ARE YOU HERE?") was instead towards the "Americans".

2) "Lawyers" was actually "Bank Managers"

3) Had a line "Sodomites? Up against the wall please."

4) Ends with a joke "Knock, knock. Who's there? Death. Death wh......."

What you've listened to was the original version that was performed live in the UK during the 1980s. And what you watched was recorded live at Boston in 1991. I guess that's the reason "Americans" was replaced with "French".

The Indian waiter is also quite different in the two versions, not
surprisingly, the "American" version is much tamer ...

This version was done at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (ie- the French part of Canada) so he had to change it in fear of getting shot! It was aired on the Just For Laughs show on the CBC.

If I remember right, He actually made it "the Americans, are they here? go over there next to the British"

But I forgot about the Sodomites part....
