,,I'm one of those. Loved the C-54(credits say it was a DC-4, same thing) I was fortunate enough to get a 2 hour ride on one in the 1970s that had just come out of the shop and converted to a fire bomber. What a trip!
shareAh, the C-54, star of the Berlin Airlift. I've never flown in one, but I have swam in one. I snorkeled a wrecked C-54 off the coast of South Bimini in 2003, and have some real good pics of the radial engines, covered in barnacles and coral.
Also, I believe the crashed pot plane in "Romancing the Stone" was a C-54 as well.
