I'm interested in a remake....

I'd love to watch this and remake it. I was watching a documentary called Shlock! about early explotation and sexploitation films and this caught my eye. Love to do this not as torture porn, but, as a Funny Games-ish time film with a credited indie cast. Any thoughts? Cheers.

I wouldn't mind seeing this movie remade, but only if it was to be made in the spirit of the original.

I don't think there'd be much interest. Today's sleaze-sploitation movies are so extreme, this wouldn't really arouse much interest unless it was done as torture porn.

If I could find the original soundtrack cues, I would remake this film. I would have to make a few small changes to the script so that the film wouldn't be so reprehensible. The target audience at the time was guys wanting to see sex, and filmmakers substituted violence for an explicit hardcore payoff. This genre dies with the advent of explicit sex films. But Frost did a great job with this one and I think it's due in part to the score. If I had the isolated tracks I think it could be a cool remake, so long as you focus a little more on the Jamison Marsh character having a conscience and struggling between his desire to indulge in debauchery and his knowing it's going too far. It's already in the original, but I'd focus more on it so it's not just fodder for sexual sadists. So find me the music and I'll kick it out in 6months for under $30K.

This film doesn't need a remake; it's fine the way it is.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

1) The mediocre reception to Tarantino's "GrindHouse" (2007) demonstrated that there aren't enough people around who remember (fondly) the Exploitation film genre.

2) Our politically correct times will never see this material in any ironic or "Funny Games-ish" way.

Sorry. You'll have to find some other material to re-make . . . . or maybe do something exceptionally radical: find an original idea.
