Turner Home Entertainment anti-DVD policy?

Why is Turner Entertainment not into issuing DVDs of their films? I recorded this movie off the TV when it first aired, and was wondering whether I should transfer it to DVD myself, but before I did that I wanted to check if it was available officially. It's not!

I'm also a big fan of the 1990 Treasure Island adaptation with Christian Bale and Charlton Heston, which is another production owned by Turner. I'm well aware of that continuing fight to get that issued on DVD.

Now this as well!

Add "The Day Lincoln Was Shot" to that list. Another great movie they just forgot about. Warners (who put out most of the other TNT movies/mini-series) put out the TNT Bible Films on DVD, Andersonville & Gettysburg, but not these. I don't know if they have the rights to other TNT films, but if they are and they're reading this - you should put them out. And if it's another company and they're reading this, they get the same message - put out these great movies on DVD; people will buy them.

Purgatory is now on dvd and so is Andresonville, I think the Hunley dvd can be bought off the Hunleys offical site with the procides going to the restoration of the sub. Your not the only ones looking for this movie. I wonder how come TNT quit making there movies since they made some really good ones, I'm trying to find Good old boys and Everything that rises.

I always cheer for the bad guy!

No, I don't think The Hunley has been released on DVD. If you mean "The Friends of the Hunley" site, they do have some DVDs for sale about the Hunley but not this movie.

It doesn't make sense that this movie was once available in VHS format, but not reissued in DVD?
