The bells in Jing Ke's hair

These seemed to be strange accessories for an assassin to sport. Was there any significance to them and has something like this been shown in other movies?

I think he was so good at assassination that he actually announced his arrival with the bells in his hair. He had no need for stealth or surprise, and the bells may have served as something of an intimidator to his victims.

I remember there was a warrior called Gan Ning from the Wu Kingdom who was formally a pirate. HE use to wear bells when fighting to bring fear to his victims and also warn them of his presence. I think Jing Ke also had a similar thing in mind with the bells.
