Or to be more precise, the secret that HE is the King's real father.

The secret was that the King of Qin was not really the King of Qin at all, because his real father was Buwei the prime minister, not the old King of Qin.

He was really the King of Qin. He may not have been the son of the previous king, but that did not stop him being king. Usurpers and adopted sons can become king.
