Any place to see this?

Does anybody know where a copy can be found?

reply

Well, it's probably not what you were expecting, but it just was on our (Czech) TV this evening. Very nice movie.

reply

I've got it on VHS.

It's very worn in a couple of places ;)

It may (or may not) still be available for download from a certain torrent site.

Email [email protected] for details.

www.derangedpictures.com - First feature to start shooting next year!

Is it like the tribe- tv series? like from new zealand??

reply

No, it's a mediocre BBC film about a bunch of middle class hippies. enlivened no end by a couple of nude scenes from the gorgeous Anna Freil.

I was looking at posts for UK Tv movie The Tribe, and noticed that you mentioned having a copy? dod you still have it? would you sell it or allow it to be copied? Thanks!

reply

Go to CDUniverse.com, click on the tab for "movies", and type in "The Tribe". This is the only site (so far) that's announcing it will be released on DVD July 25. You can pre-order it thru them. I checked Amazon.com, and, so far, they aren't listing it to pre-order, but they probably will.

I bought a copy directly from the USA. It is just a very basic DVD, no chapters, no fast forward available. Worst of all, they have prudishly cut the more revealing of the Anna Friel scenes. I find this to be sheer vandalism, no other way to describe it. The full scenes were considered acceptable for viewing on prime-time TV so why cut them from a DVD? I know that the price is low, but I wouldn't knowingly buy a cut or censored DVD at any price.

reply

I have the DVD. I had no idea it was censored, since I never saw it on TV.

This may be a few months late but hey-ho. I recorded this off UK TV on it's premiere all those years ago. I've now bought the R1 DVD and it's uncut. True there's no chapters but it's defo not missing any Anna Friel (phew!) Plus it's bright and clear compared to my worn out video!

Nice one Bob!

I'll have to replace my worn out VHS copy too.

On DVD it'll have slow motion, pause, zoom and pan functions.

PHEC!

Enjoy.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)

I downloaded it from some internet site 5 years ago. Finally got around to watching it toady. Quite weird but still satisfying.

It's now available to buy as a download from the new BBC Store site, along with a lot of other good archive stuff.
