True Story?
I noticed during this moving that the maiden name of Flora was Henning and they also lived in Tennessee as did the family of Alex Hailey. Is this a true story and was she somehow related to the Henning’s from Roots?
shareI believe this is a mostly fictional account, but some of the events and details parallel Haley's life/family. Before I read the book I thought it was a true story, for a while anyway. I read somewhere or saw a promo that invited us to get to know the other side of Haley's family. I'll have to reread the book, it would have mentioned how close it was to his life.
