Would love to see a follow-up on the women in the film

Just saw this on Hulu. Really interesting. This is not a sex film, but a film about the people. 20-some years later, I would love to see a follow-up movie on how the girls' lives turned out.

Half of the girls probably didn't give their real names so they couldn't be traced and disgraced later. I think there were alot of stories there still to be told - especially from Connie. I felt like Connie was the main "star" here and there was alot going on that wasn't filmed (Walter seemed to be somewhat harrassing her).

I swear, Kate Hudson could play Connie in a biopic, lol.

man she DID remind me of Kate Hudson - it was bugging me the whole time who she looked like. but yeah would be cool to see a follow up but realistically impossible

On the DVD commentry Mr. Broomfield Said Mandy (big tits who gets fired at the end) was murdered 2 years after the film was made.

The owner guy died of a heart attack on the eve of his trial for the murder of three girls from a previous location.

Also, JJ, the bruentte who left for greener pastures got involved with a pimp and her life turned even more to *beep*

WOw- interesting. Thanks for the follow-up

I can't even get this on DVD and can only see this from my dvd rental service through a watch online feature. It's nice to know these little things that weren't elaborated on (it would have been nice for a follow up to have been added at the end of the film, even if it were to just say what happened to each of these girls).

How exactly was Mandy murdered? Was there any details as to what happened to her exactly or is it just one of those incidents where she was attacked by a client and it turned nasty? Such a shame. I read on another site Dianne became a successful computer analyst.

Wonder what happened to Connie...

No details to Mandy's murder only thing I know is that it's unsolved and the case is still opened. I wouldn't be surprised if the fat lumberjack hacksaw jim duggun looking *beep* had something to do with her death.

If you're talking about the "Buck" guy, I don't think him and Mandy really had much contact other than in the parlor. It's more Diane he was trying to get for $20.

It's kind of sad about Mandy really, she's lying on the bed talking to J.J. in one scene and she says she was very feeling and she was going to fall in love with someone wonderful someday, it made me a little sad knowing how her life ended up and that she didn't live much longer (although the profession the girls chose, it's not surprising).

Where did you find out about the owner's trial? I did a quick Google search and couldn't pull up anything.

It takes a lot of searching to find out about Walter's trials (and there were quite a few!).

There were several cases related to his 'dealings' that indicated he was shady to begin with.

One of the cases I read, was that Walter had claimed several miles of land somewhere in the desert and opened a brothel there. Apparently Walter had already known well in advance that the land belonged to someone already, but because the land was based in an area where no 'written laws' were in practice, he'd assumed that he was legally bullet proof. When real owner of the land started taking legal action against Walter, Walter arranged for three acquaintances to torch the place to the ground (with his staff still inside) in an attempt to shuck the charges whilst intending to claim insurance (as far as I know, all the staff made it out alive) . The whole thing led to about half a decade worth of huge court battles with charges of attempted murder, insurance fraud, arson, and running an illegal operation.

While the filming for the film was going on, he was also on trial with the state of Nevada because the ranch was on the limits of Pahrump where prostitution is illegal.

Later, he was on trial for connection with the murder of three girls ( who I believe were former employees)? He was in prison awaiting trial for this crime and died I think it was a day or two before he was supposed to go to court (of a heart attack).

You'll find stuff about him if you google his name (Walter Plankinton).
