The isolated farm is his new isolated island

I think in the end when Chuck is deciding what to do, he's attracted to the isolation of the farm just as much or even more than he is attracted to the woman Bettina. He still wants to be isolated in the middle of nowhere. He's used to it and maybe misses it, so the farm is his new island.

Im not sure if he liked isolation but he was overwhelmed by all the people and attention. Also he had just lost the love of his life. Now he can start over in a quieter setting with the bettina woman

Let's hope she doesn't freak out when he turns up, thinking he is some kind of stalker serial killer type, and blow him away.

Whatever his reasons, the similarity between the farm and the island really struck me.The farm is a perfect place for him.

He risked his life to leave the island. He was so desperate to leave in any way he could, that he even experimented with suicide.

I doubt he misses it in any way, shape, or form.

I saw that Chuck was at a crossroads in his new life and couldn't figure out which way to go.

Hence him literally standing at a crossroads with a map.

I would too have known where he went like direction did he take.

I agree with this. I don't think he misses the island, per se, but he's used to solitude and likely having a hard time adjusting to being back in civilization and surrounded by people again. It's probably a lot of pressure after being in isolation for four years. So he probably would prefer the tranquility of a rural life.

It happens with anyone who hardly leaves the house. It causes them to have panic attacks and feel different
