A new film on the book-anyone knows?

Yesterday I watched a film on RAI-1 (the Italian Network) based on the same book, although changed so much to make me doubt it at first. I didn't make it to catch any actors names, but in the end it seemed to me many names were in a east european language ... does anyone have an idea where I can trace it? I'm sure it's recent, and RAI titled it ''La citadella'' (the citadel) in Italian.
