You know what didn't work in Saint Seiya ?

Shun, Lizard Misty and Pisces Aphrodite being male characters despite their excessive androgyny. Come on, do they really expect us to believe this is a man ? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4b/Hades_pisces_face.jpg
And I make a special mention to Shun's case. His character would have been much better explored if they had made him a girl because they could have made him a love interest for Hyoga.

lol that's not excessive in the least

My theory is right: THERE'S PLENTY OF LADYBOYS AND FEMBOYS IN SAINT SEIYA

reply

they are Trap characters

I've always assumed Kurumada got bored of drawing so many male characters, what with the emphasis on female saints wearing masks, so he decided to make some of those saints look like women.
In Shun's case, his looks don't necessarily make him look like a girl. It's his character and armor that do.

reply

To tell the truth you are right, beneath his armor he wears suspenders which at least help him retain some rest of masculinity.

In french, Shun was dubbed by a woman until episode 5 when the people xwho dubbed the show realised their mystake.
