Is CD1 the same as CD2?

I just wana ask that, last week i downloaded the RE2 game, CD1 & CD2, and played CD1(Leon) on the PSX emulator and completed it. Then i started CD2(Claire) and the game starts of exactly the same, same gunshop and zombies in same position etc, only difference was that its Claire in CD2. I played it for 5 min then then just turned it off, coz i thought its 100% same as CD1, but rather with Claire in it. So i thought no point of playing CD2 since its the same

So can someone please clear it out for me, is CD1 exactly same as CD2? So isnt there point of me playing the CD2, since ive already completed CD1? I mean they both exactly same, rite? Fighting the same bosses, collecting same items?

or arent they? Please advise.

They arent exactly the same, there are different things for each character.
Claire has to deal with Sherry & Leon with Ada. And i think Claire also has Mr X chasing her, where as Leon A or B stage doesnt have Mr X.

Also Claire meets Chief Irons, and i dont think Leon does.

I heard that before "Leon A, Claire B" etc, whats the deal with these A, B?

reply

Their are four different scenarios.

Leon A
Claire B
Claire A
Leon A

Depending on the disc that's in you'll play as that character, which is the A game. After you beat it then you play as the other character through their perspective, which is the B game. They aren't all exactly the same. In the A games you enter the police station through the fronts doors and in the B games you enter from the roof. Plus in the B games you'll also have Mr X showing up throughout the game.

ok, so both CDs may not be exactly the same, but they are about 90% same, rite?

reply

DIFFERENT ... Disc one is only leon

disc 2 is only claire

if you play disc2 first, it will be claire A, Leon B.

hope that helps...are you okay or need more assistance...

i think that should be ok. i played and completed disc1 (leon) and i dont think i will bother with disc2 now or other scenarios. i also recently played RE 3 NEMESIS on PS1 emulator and that was an ok game too, but i prefered RE2.

ok. are there any more similiar games to RE series on Playstation 1. I have played Silent Hill and also Dino Crisis. Are there any more good ones, which are worth playing?

reply

you could try out Martian Gothic. Its for the Pc, Psx and Dreamcast.
Its not a great game, but it has its scary moments ;)

from memory

leon heads into the police station through the front door .....
claire goes in the other side and meets back up with leon and also meets brian irons .....

from there i cant rightly remember what happens when they hit the sewers....

reply

Yeah you're right! I prefer Claire B., because it has the Tyrant thing chasing you all the way through it.

They're different. You'll play as the opposite character on the other disc which features a different route, partner, and other things such as item placement and availability will be altered based on what you did in the first scenario. Also, Mr. X only appears on the second disc and you won't get the true ending until you've completed the second scenario as well.

After you complete Leon's A scenario, save the game. The file turns red, reading "Claire 00". Put disc 2 in, load the red file and you get a completely different route and story from Claire's P. O. V. (remember how they were both separated in the explosion at the beginning?!).
