Fascinating Movie

Mermaid in a Manhole could very well be an episode of The Twilight Zone. The episode where a man in a coma dreams he was in the dessert, and when he wakes up the doctors tell him he was never there, but then they pour sand out of his boot... it's all very fascinating.

A movie about denial over the loss of one's true love, and the desperation in trying to return to what we once knew.

It is as if he is in denial about losing the most beautiful thing in the world, namely his wife, and now his life has no direction, in the sewer, with the discarded memories of his life, all the loss and regret, etc... and he keeps trying to patch it up at any cost because he remembers what life used to be, and even though the truth keeps sneaking in, like the sores on the mermaid, he keeps trying to get everything back to how it used to be.

I actually was very fascinated by this movie.
The painter whose wife has left him, finds the mermaid who inspires his painting representing his diseased marriage and struggle to create through that tragedy and loss, what was real what was fantasy?

Superficial desires muddled with mental confusions, breaking beyond expression and limitations, in the Twilight Zone. [lol]

Kinda cool.

It is great, but not one of my faves... I think the first and second are the best.

EDIT: Also, did you see the scene after the credits? It's cool.

What happens in the scene after the credits?

After the credits, there is a scene in the sewer where you can hear something in the water.
