The Ending....

Okay, is it just me, or did the ending of this film seem like a major inspiration for the ending of American Psycho? I found some parallels between the two movies...

In American Psycho, they didn't care about all the dead bodies in the apartment, they just cared about how good the apartment looked for resale.

In He Never Dies, they didn't care that he was just a severed head, they just cared about his apartment and all the blood that was making a mess.

STRANGE....

I love the sitcomesque ending to this, but I think it was blatantly obvious that in American psycho the events occured in Patrick batemans own mind, AP is about the violent thoughts in peoples minds that come as a result of watching horror films (remember just before he has sex with the hookers and kills them with a chainsaw, he watches two films, a porno and the texas chainsaw massacre) Also as far as i know, it would be pretty tough to find a copy of this in the US at the time that American psycho was written.

Sorry to break it for you, but the book was never meant to be that "deep".
The author of the book clearly confirmed that it really "happened".
While I have no real source for this ( had before though), it says this on wikipedia:

Due to the fact that one of the main themes of the film/book is mistaken identity, one can not be certain about the validity of his lawyer's statement of having lunch with Paul Allen. Taking this into consideration it is fairly clear that the murders did happen, and the real conflict is the fact that there is no way for Bateman to escape his crimes since it is unlikely he will ever be caught.
