Someone Explain

I have seen an enormous amount of comments in this board about how this movie looks old, cheap, and has unrealistic special effects. I feel like I was watching a completely different movie. The gore special effects were among the absolute best I have ever seen in a horror flick. I would really like to understand how you can think this "looks fake" or "looks too old".
