Hey you guys were great! What was the name of your group? Did ya do any other movies or make any records?

Did you do ALL that dancing around while you were really playing? Ouch!!!

Hey there: Well, yes we did do all that jumping around when playing. Admittedly, the sound quality suffered some, but the crowd loved it. My name is George, I live in The Dalles, OR & I was the clarinet/sax guy. Check out 'Get Yourself a College Girl' @ imdb.com & click on, full cast & crew. There we are, The Rhythm Masters. No info on us, but being in the movie was pretty cool. Not out on video so recently when the movie popped up on TCM, I has a friend tivo it. We all lived in the San Fernando Valley, N of L.A. Went to Cleveland H S & graduated in '63 & '64. Was a blast playing the lounges in Reno, Lake Tahoe & the Tropicana in Vegas. We had tv apperances on Hollywood Palace, the Danny Kaye Show, & Ed Sullivan as well. Almost got rich & famous... Thanks, jaynrand, for your comments. Good to know somebody out there in the world actually enjoyed us. Ironically, our keyboard guy was named, 'Rand.' (Spooky!! :>)' See ya & if you wish, e-mail me @ /[email protected]/

The last guy who danced in the solos section, the chubbiest guy, was cuter than Chad Everett!! Hubba! Did you get to meet any of the girls? I'd love to know what Nancy Sinatra was like back then. Great posts, thank you for them.

Ii was born in the 60's, and to this day I am obsessed with this ere--particular the early 60's. I love the fashion, the music, the movies, etc. So whenever an obscure little gem like this comes on, I always DVR it. I was not familiar with this one, just happen upon it by chance, but I thought it was a hoot, and I really enjoyed it. Particularly your band. WOW--I would love to see a band like this play at one of the clubs I go to now! Very entertaining, and you do a mean bell kick!!!

Hey, can you still bust a move the way you did in GYCG? Y'all were incredible. Must've been quite cozy, performing in those sweaters.

I was enjoying the heck out of y'all's playing & antics, when suddenly there's a chorus line of clean-cut collegiate types, knocking out a time-step. What a bunch! Y'all must've been fun at a party.

Did you get to meet any of the other performers? I mean, what a collection! Stan Getz, Eric Burdon, Jimmy Smith.... Whatta line-up! The script is pure schlock, but who cares when the music is so wonderful?

Smith's performance of "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic" moved me almost to tears, it was so powerful. Then, there was that little bespectacled geeky dude who blew me away, the way he almost caressed music from his vibraphone. And the intently-focused near-dweeb turns out to be vibe virtuoso Gary Burton.

What a treat. And what an additional treat that one of the performers stands up and goes, "Ta-dah! I was part of this pop-cultural goodie!" Great stuff, this information superhighway thingie.

This movie is finally out on official DVD from Warner Bros!!! According to another poster it was released April of 2011 by WB.
I just purchased my copy of it the last week in August, 2011.
The DVD is from a master copy and in widescreen edition. The sound is just great, especially after I had a poor VHS copy taped off TV from way back in 1993.
I'll have to look for your role playing the clarinet/sax player in The Rhythm Masters.
I really enjoy this movie not sure exactly why, although I was only two years old when it was released. It's so 60's I just love it. Mary Ann Mobley is cute, Chris Noel, Joan O'brien, the familiar character actor Willard Walterman, they are all just great, and is a fun movie to watch (and enjoy the music!).
WB has it listed for sale on their site wbshop.com but I got my copy elsewhere, on that gigantic auction site :-)
