He was in a "Sanford & Son" episode as a dentist. His voice was immediately recognizable, I had no idea what he looked like

Sid McCoy was a veteran of many great television shows. He was a guest star on "Sanford and Son",and was the guest star on a lot of black sitcom shows during the 1970's including "Good Times","The Jeffersons","What's Happening!",
"That's My Mama!","Grady","Baby I'm Back","Different Strokes",among others.

He was also the police sargeant on an episode of "Dragnet" with Jack Webb and Harry Morgan.

And played a detective in several cop shows,among them "Kojak","Baretta",
"The Streets of San Francisco",among others.

Sid McCoy worked at W.C.F.L radio in Chicago as the Late night Jazz D.J.. He, along with Joe Cobb and Don were/are highly regarded for their community and on-air works. Both Joe and Don worked for the legendary W.V.O.N. and participated in making "Soul Train" the show the broadcasting icon it is today.
