How did Soul Train survived without Don Cornelius?

When Don Cornelius ended his run as the host of Soul Train in 1993,he still was in charge of production and had creative control of the series,on other words HE RAN IT!!!

However,Cornelius was behind the scenes while still serving as producer and executive director of production. The person whom became the host of Soul Train and the man who succeeded Cornelius was Mystro Clarke, who became the host for the 1993-1994 season. Clarke,to some critics was one of the worst host ever to come along for Soul Train. Instead,Clarke lasted one season and was gone afterwards. Some people say that Cornelius fired Clarke or in one aspect terminated him over issues. Whatever happened to Mystro Clarke????
When Clarke became host of Soul Train, the ratings began to slipped, and it almost was taken off the air,but instead survived. After Clarke, the man who replaced him was Shemar Moore of "The Young and the Restless". Moore brought Soul Train back to the top of the ratings during his tenture.

Raysond,

You are WRONG! First off, after Don Cornelius stepped down from "Soul Train" in 1993, from 1993 until 1997, the show had mulitple guest star host. Mystro Clarke hosted the show from 1997 until 1999. Now I'm no so sure about Shemar Moore making the ratings better when he came to the show in 1999, sure he had the women dancing around him like a pimp or something. Show some proof that rating increased when Shemar Moore took over. He lasted on the show for 4 seasons and was replaced by Dorian Gregory, as a matter of fact, it wasn't even big news that Shemar Moore left "Soul Train". He left to do a show that didn't last long at all.

Soul Train I think that it's safe to say, really started to lose its luster after Don Cornelius stepped aside as the host in 1993. Even though he was getting older, Don just had this presence, natural cool, air of class and gravitas about him. After he stopped hosting, Soul Train for better or worse, started to simply coast on its reputation and past glory.
