Copyright Dates.
Yesterday's show had Stevie Wonder, The Momments and can't remember who else,but the copyright date says, 1971, but Superstition, the song Stevie performs was 1972 or 73.
How is that?
Too cheap to change the graphic, I don't know. Kinda like "Bewitched" and their opening sequences. (they showed "Copyright MCMLXVI Screen Gems" on all their episodes from 1966 to 1969)
They continued showing the "1971" graphic until about the 1975-1976 season.
It was most likely the last time that they had registered for a copyright on a specific season (did they change up the opening or something?). You don't need to constantly renew or apply for a copyright with the government, but it is encouraged.
