How many TV Stations carried Soul Train from 1971 - 2006?

I think it got the late-morning / early afternoon slot on many TV stations nationwide sandwiched between saturday morning cartoons and Pro Wrestling (another saturday / sunday staple) or sports programming.

In Chicago, WBBM Channel 2 carried "Soul Train" from 1971-1976. WGN Channel 9 carried it from 1977-2006 and aired "The Best of Soul Train" from 2006-2008 before BET/Centric and Bounce TV reran the show.

Why does it matter?

Enough of them for the series to be on for a long time.

What the hell do you mean, why does it matter!? Did you ever watch the show!? It isn't like today, where for a syndicated program, you can quite instantly go online to see where the show is airing in your city.
