How old are we all?

I often think I must be one of the youngest dinnerladies fans. I'm 20 now but I started watching back when it first aired - which I believe was 1998? Well that would have made me 12 and I loved it right from the start and watched it whenever it was repeated. Especially the dinnerladies back-to-backs on UKGold!

My mother used to think I was weird - laughing maniacally at a show even she considered herself too young to enjoy!

So I was wondering how old is everyone who posts on this board and was there anyone who watched this when they were a kid and loved it even then?

I'm 16 now; I'm not sure when I first got into it but I suppose living with my Grandparents helped. I haven't seen it for a while but I remember it as a feel good show - even if you didn't always find it funny you'd still want to watch it - especially when Julie was on screen.

I'm 14 and I've loved it for about a year and a half!

Im 27 and have been a huge fan of Victoria Wood/Julie Walters (and Celia Imrie) since the mid 80s, so I always have a look when any program or film has their names on it.

Being a great fan of Coronation Street, I was also drawn into dinnerladies by seeing that Shobna Gulati and Thelma Barlow were in it. I also remember Duncan Preston from Surgical Spirit which was a funny medical sitcom from early 90s (I think)

Hi! I'm 29 and have been a huge Victoria Wood fan for years so I instantly loved Dinnerladies. Its the one liners that are the best and Julie Walters character "Petula Gordino" is my favourite (Hope she is in the next Harry Potter!!!!)

I'm early 40's and a big comedy fan, when i saw the 1st episode of 'dinnerladies' i didn't care much for it, too many characters fighting to get their lines in. But it grew on me, and i love it to bits now.

I am 26...loved dinnerladies from the start. it has that lovely english, homely feeling..sigh

reply

I'm 22. I never found anyone who didn't like Dinnerladies who'd actually sat down and watched it. I think it was the concept that offended people. The West doesn't much appreciate middle aged women.

I'm 23 now and loved it right from the start when it began in 1998, so I guess I would have been 15 at the time

reply

I'm 16 now and have just really got into it, but I grew up with my mum watching it and I liked it then!! It RULES!! Such a relief to find genuine, light hearted humour these days! Plus, it had Victoria Wood AND Julie Walters (one of the best actresses EVER!) HOW can it be bad lol????
