I have to say that Malinda Williams is such a beauty. She was so pretty and adorable as Alicia. I wish we could see more of this lovely and talented actress!

shareHands down adorable and excellent in the role. One complaint I have is that the gorgeous & talented Sanaa Lathan was not the right one cast for the older Malinda. She's great but they could have found a slightly more believable person who had the younger character's look and spunk.
To add on, Sanaa was perfectly cast for Love & Basketball and had all the breadth, strength & vulnerability for the role.
God yes....first saw this movie in 2000, the year after it came out (which as the year I graduated from high school) I remembered her fondly from WB's Nick Freno.....she was so gorgeous as Alicia especially at the homecoming dance in red dress and that lipstick adding to those beautiful lips...in the past few days seen this movie twice....just remembering the old days...even though these characters were older than me they still represented the last few generations of innocence before this world went to hell...would love to know where this characters are moreso than the Best Man characters...but I'm guessing Omar and Sanaa would never do another couple movie again....it wouldn't be the same without the flashbacks anyway and it would be weird for the young cast to play the older cast now..love this movie....need Tamala Jones in my life too...

She really was...I saw this when it came out when I was about 13 or 14 (depending on when it was released) and I wanted to be Alicia she was one of those perfect girls (gorgeous, smart, great personality, great style popular). I was shocked to find out Malinda was about ten years older than me when she made this movie!
