I know it's wrong for me to think this about Claire but:

I kind of wish that she had just left it alone after they burned her hair. You know norman says Madison came to the house and theatened to kill herself (then she disappeared), I know its mental for me to think this because Norman killed her in cold blood but I always think that if Claire didn't make him feel trapped in his own lie he wouldn't have tried to kill her and go insane.

-Granted if i were Claire i would wanna know exactly what happened. But i think if they moved past it they could have both lived happily ever after...I never think of him as a psycho killer but just very very selfish...

Isn't that sick of me???

Probably cos i love harrison ford.

No, I disagree... It's better that she knew. He was nuts either way already. She needed to know, because Norman didn't believe that she was seeing ghosts - he thought she already knew tat he had murdered Madison, and that she was creating some elaborate hoax to get him to confess. She would have been in danger from him no matter what.

Besides, the ghost was still there - there were still disturbances after the braid was burned. No matter what, it would have escalated to Norman going bonkers anyway.

I love Harrison Ford, too, and this was a hard character to see him play, but at the same time, it was refreshing to see him as the villain and not the charming, loveable hero we've always known him as.

I agree, I was actually feeling pretty sorry for Norman there for a while. He did something terrible because he felt he had no other choice if he was to save his marrage and lifes work, and Calire was backing him into a corner with her endless snooping. However when he was teasing her while preparing to drown her in the tub he lost most of my sympathy.

I think Clare's an arse.
If she had her suspicions about Norman, why in gods earth would you jump into the lake at night when he's in the bloody house?????? For gods sake use som common sense girl.
I'm not about the time when she's possessed now, I mean when she jumps in I her nighty in the night.

What a twat, why didn't she wait until he went to work, then she could have jumped In in the morning and he would have been none the wiser, hence he wouldn't have been able to try and kill you the you daft stupid woman!!!!!!!!!

reply

Me too. I just wanted her to say "well it's water under the bridge norman, let's just go to bed and get some rest, tomorrows a new day!"

But nooooo she just had to go spoiling everything!
I felt a bit sorry for Norman. His mistress was going to ruin everything for him. All because she couldn't have him, because he wouldn't leave Claire.

I think it actually reminded me that young girls can get very attached to a man and that they're not ALL fickle. So basically I went through a range of emotions in this film which is why I think it's so great. I love when a movie does that to you, takes you for a ride like that. :)

I had to kill Bob Morton because he made a mistake. Now it's time to erase that mistake

He should have kept it in his pants, then he wouldn't have had these problems.

Yes Maddison looks & sounds like the little bitch who cheated with my guy cos she was a blonde kid except she had dreadlocks & piercings.
This is my story - i was with my lecture guy for 8 years - he started acting strange so i figured he was cheating.
I discovered he was cheating & using the excuse that his best friend was dying of cancer (which was true) bt me like a lemon was being really supportive & kept telling him to visit his friend & go away with him before its too late etc.

Then i had these messages off a girl who i then discovered he was sleeping with!
So he was lying to me telling me he was visiting him in the hospital & he was seeing her - very sick & twisted if you ask me. Thats disgusting using a friends illness to pretend your visiting them but sleeping with your student.
The girl was a bitch too, she was only 21 & kept messaging me bragging saying Ive got your guy' etc. She even introduced herself to his mum in a pub whilst I was there - we had all accidentally bumped into each other in a pub and he was there too, then the student turned up, spotted me & went up to his mum & and family & introduced herself as his girlfriend whilst i was there too - little bitch. When i cornered her in the toilet, she saw me & quickly ran off. Also the stupid little brat thought it would be funny to try it agbain. I got chatting with a guy in the pub the same evening & she decided it would be a laugh to come up to him & she started talking to him very openly & even asked him out, whilst my ex partner was in the pub. She did it to show me 'Ha I can take any guy off you' such a stupid little kid. The guy i was chatting to looked really uncomfortable so he must have known what she was doing. I'm 6 years older than her so I just said {When i realied what she was doing} 'oh grow up little girl, your welcome to her' to the guy she was talking to.

His mother even had the nerve to say 'well thats life, boys are boys' he was 20 years older then her & i was only 5 years older than her. We were engaged too. His family totally turned their backs on me & i did nothing wrong. Then i discovered he dumped her too after he got what he wanted, she tried to kill herself & ended up in hospital. Then he got another girl pregnant & left her too.

But he did get sacked for sleeping with his student cos quite rightly her mum complained & he got fired.
I got out of that with a narrow escape - thank god! He now married to another girl younger than me, 20 years younger than him & she looks just like me.

*beep* - also his poor 1 yr old baby is being raised by the babys mother cos he kicked her into touch - Bad guy!!

I think I agree. Claire put herself and her daughter in danger by exposing Norman. They could have gone on the rest of their lives with no problem.

I think there would be several problems.

- He's a killer who doesn't really feel remorse so staying with him is a danger as such no matter if she knows that he is one or not.

- He already thought that she knew and was trying to trick him with some kind of ghost story so he was paranoid which made him even more dangerous. He could believe at any moment that she's planing to expose him and snap.

- In the bathtub scene at the end he explicitly states that the good thing about Claire's death would be that he'd get closer to his step daughter which is some creepy sh*t right there.

So apart from him being a cheater, liar, murderer, remorseless and possibly attracted to her daughter, you're right. There are no problems.

Some of the comments on this thread are bizarre. Let's feel sorry for the psychopath who began an affair because he was bored with his wife (he more or less stated that she spent all her time and attention on her daughter, so he was jealous she wasn't lavishing all her attention on him). The woman he's screwing just happened to be a younger version of his wife and then he brutally kills her when she demands some respect, thinking the whole time he got away with it. From the very beginning, he tried to make Claire think she was going mad; first, when she saw her husband and mistress together (hence what caused the car accident) and then from the paranormal activities later. True, he didn't believe in the spirit haunting his home; that doesn't mean he wasn't an evil bastard, who nearly got away with one murder and one attempted murder. The man was a narcissist; why should he have got away with what he did to that poor girl?

And wasn't Claire "pushed" into the lake by the ghost of Madison? It's been a long time since I've seen this movie but I'm pretty sure she didn't jump. Madison wasn't ready to move on until she showed Claire the truth about the man she was married to.

Don't let anyone ever make you feel like you don't deserve what you want.

I agree with Andromache. It's a little scary to me that people are so concerned about Norman, and blaming Claire for pushing him too far. He started the issues. Would anyone really feel comfortable sleeping next to someone they knew had already murdered someone for being an inconvenience? He's narcissisticand manipulative, not to mention a cheater who lacks remorse. Why would she want to be with him?

reply

I'm scared on how NOBODY talked about her letting her husband murderer go away with it and just live her life normally with him.

What?? When did Claire do this?
Norman attacked her & tried to kill her as soon as she found out. She thought he called 911 to turn himself in, but of course he lied.

She never let him get away with anything.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.
