My Biggest Complaint

I liked this movie rather well. I feel like it portrayed relationship problems pretty accurately (though realistically, Ben and Katie would have probably just ended up getting a divorce), but there was one scene that really annoyed me. Bruce Willis' freak out scene in the restaurant where he embarrasses the crap out of Rita Wilson and Rob Reiner just doesn't seem plausible. He doesn't seem like the type of guy to just flip out in public like that. Also, I think Bruce Willis did a terrible job in that scene, which made it even more hard to watch. His scene after, when he's sitting outside the restaurant crying and finally seeing things through his wife's eyes is well done, but that entire part before it is just annoying.

Anyone else agree?

I agree to a point, I think it was partially meant to be funny and also display him just finally losing it

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.

(I realize this is now 2.5 years after you've posted this... but here I go anyway.)

I think it fit his character rather well. Everyone has their breaking point, and if he hadn't gone through that, then he might not have been able to get to the point that he needed to.

The same was true of Sally’s orgasm scene - completely out of character.

Neither bothered me though as both films are great and I’m swept up by them, so I can overlook some OTT moments.
