Does this movie have one of those awful scenes where...

The cute white family dances and lip-synchs to a soul tune? Those scenes may have started with "The Big Chill" and they always made me cringe...I remember seeing a scene like that in the previews but can't remember if it stayed in the film, may have been part of a montage (bad enough!)

God Almighty...that is so hysterical because it's SO accurate, and so iconic it ought to appear in Ebert's list of movie conventions, if something like it doesn't already.

Haven't seen the film, BTW, so I don't know. But I've sure as hell seen enough other ones with exactly that cringeworthy element.

Why don't black families in movies square dance to country western music like white families lip sync to r&b music?
