Make a movie of this? :-P

George Lucas should make a movie of this, use same story and same actors. It could be great, because the story and filmclip in the game were excelent.

What do you think?

reply

Eh, I don't think it would make a good movie. A good TV series, but the Dark Forces series has never been something that I could see being up on the big screen. Not to mention that George pretty much dislikes everything from the expanded universe.

I think they should start with Dark Forces. These movies should be darker and more intense than Episodes 1-6. Soldier for the Empire(The Novel adaptation Dark Forces) is an interesting example of what these movies should be like; the movies should probably be a direct adaptation of that book. They should play out like this:

1. Star Wars: Dark Forces-
Have the first half be about Jan persuading Kyle to become a Merc for the Rebel Alliance and his days as a stormtrooper. Kyle should be the Black Ops of the Rebel Alliance, someone that only Mon Mothma and Jan know about. The Death Star Plans should be on Coruscant(A mission that would involve Kyle taking on a battalion of Stormtroopers and ending with a confrontation with Boba Fett*like in the game*). The Dark Troopers(which are like terminators) could be shown massacering rebel bases throughout and the movie should end like the game with a confrontation between General Monc in a Super Dark Trooper suit v.s Kyle on the Arc Hammer(the Dark Trooper Factory), resulting in it's destruction.

2. Star Wars: Jedi Knight-
This should follow the game closely, having each duel show Kyle edge closer and closer towards the Dark Side as his quest for vengeance consumes him. By the he fights Jerec in the Valley, he has become a Dark Jedi, which is the only way his inexperience with the force can keep up with Jerec's increased power. Kyle's rage could almost kill Jan in this climactic battle with Jerec, forcing him to rethink his actions and retire prematurely as a Jedi

3. Star Wars: Jedi Outcast-
This should follow the game closely. It should incorporate a bit of Jedi Academy as well. Kyle undergoes another quest for vengeance after he mistakenly believes Jan is murdered by Desanne and Tavion, which sees his return to the force, which he manages to keep under control with help from Luke. He also recieves help from Rosh and Jaden in his quest and Rosh falls to the Dark side. The final battle could be Luke, Kyle, and Jaden v.s Desanne, Tavion, and Rosh to decide the future of the Force.

...send this message to J. J. Abrams. Clearly, this should be the plot layout of the sequel trilogy!

Normally I don't reply to these kinds of threads, but I do have to say that this game was as engaging as the original Star Wars films from 77 up through Jedi in 82.

I'm just sorry that the models and textures were so primitive, but it didn't matter too much because the game itself was highly playable.
