Grim Mermaid? Rusalka -- In the mid-70's i saw a sad MERMAID story.

In the mid-70's i saw a sad-ending MERMAID story.
Where the mermaid cannot talk. And i remember the foam on the sea.

Now, in internet days, i figured it was THIS version.
But it is not SAD enough. Perhaps i saw a cartoon?


It was faaaar before the sweet Disney of 1989 of course.


Any other versions?????
