comparison Double Life of Véronique

Hi, I was just wondering, I've read somewhere that the idea behind Passion of Mind is the same as in The Double Life of Véronique (2 identical women who live miles apart, but somehow feel each others presence).
Has anyone seen them both? Could you please enlighten me, our videostore doesn't have Passion of Mind anymore

Yes, I've seen them both. I also said to myself: This must be inspired by "La double vie de Véronique". But whereas this film is about one single woman (and the life of her mother, as it turns out) in Kieslowski's film there are two women -- one in France and one in Poland -- who live their lives at the same time and see each other (or perhaps only one of them sees the other) only once when the French woman visits Poland as a tourist. There is no family/history connection between them as in this film, but they share the interest in music, whereas this film uses literature as the common denominator. / elisabet

I've seen them both.
There is no similartiy between two movies.

In T.P.O.M there is a real woman and a woman in her dream, but in T.D.L.O.V there are two distinct women each living own her life and somehow feel each other.

In T.P.O.M the main character knows about the other one completely, but in the T.D.L.O.V none know about the other one (well the French one discovers about the Polish one after her death).

In T.P.O.M we see a mental disease, but in T.D.L.O.V it is just a connection.
