I know, I thought that was weird too. Having just watched the movie for the first time tonight, I didn't pay that much attention to it, so I'm going to watch it again tomorrow, but in all those scenes in France it was kind of lame that none of them, and even the people around the main characters, like in the village when she's at the butcher or whatever that was, I didn't hear people speak French. Honestly, I didn't think the movie was that great, and it was either Demi Moore's acting or maybe the sceenplay, but something about one of the two, or maybe it was both came across as very unconvincing, and cheesy, but maybe I'll change my mind when I watch it again.

You can hear French speakings on the news on TV :>

By the way I agree, and would like it more if they talked in French in France :>

That bothered me too...especially the children growing up in France. You'd think they would have spoken French more or at least would have had a French accent to their English. After all, didn't they go to school in France?

I think this issue of not speaking French in France is acceptable at the end as Marty is living in France only in her dream life.So the people in her dream life could speak English which is the more familiar language in her real life. Don't you think that is a reasonable point?
