The Song at the end ('Beneath You')

Would somebody please help me before I go insane? I know that Fred Wilhelm did the song "Beneath You" at the very end of the movie and it's on his album "amidlife." However, I am certain that a group originally did this song probably in the 80's. I can't remember the name of the group, but I could swear that someone else did this song as I remember it sounded entirely different from the version in Oxygen. I found that three other groups did this song, but none of them is the group and their songs are different. I'm beginning to think that the song might be called something else and not "Beneath You." I've been searching the internet but can't find an answer.
