A rather labored, uneven tale.

But even though the ending was a bit contrived, I did enjoy it.
The ending was beautiful, literally, and perhaps why this film was described by critics as 'weighty' and did indeed seem this way....is because it tried hard to be 'real'.

I will say it was uneven, and the character of Alice was bizarre.
