Did anyone else want to backhand the oldest daughter?

I couldn't stand Alice's bratty daughter. If I had deliberately dumped an entire bowl of cereal on the floor like she did when I was a kid, my mom would have made me get on my knees and eat it.

Hell yeah I wanted to backhand her. I would have made her clean up her mess for starters. Something was wrong with that kid

I think that was her role though. To be the chief antagonizer to her overwhelmed mom and to make the fact that she slapped the boy more of a surprise when we find out about it because she didnt do anything like that with her own bratty kid even when she was just asking for it. So she did her job. The trouble is she was maybe 7 and she acted like she was 13. So angry... "I HATE YOU!!!" and acting sooo embarrassed by her mom seems a little premature for a 7 year old but normal for an adolescent female.

I’m watching this and I have a migraine. I’ve almost turned it off because of her! I don’t see how or why she puts up with that type of behavior. I hate it when parents count like that. Kids need to learn to obey. Time outs for a kid like that don’t work either. It’s just a time for her to get more angry. If she’s a pain now just wait till she’s a teenager. Spanking doesn’t work for all kids, some kids you look at them firmly and they cry. But kids like this need to be spanked and reminded who is in charge. Her stepping out of the house to escape her daughter shows its her daughter who ruled and her daughter knows that. My mom was the same way. She’d often say “ok, you can have it just shut up.” Even as a 17yr old I whined to get my way. She was verbally abusive but she didn’t want to hear me whine
