Just in case you missed it last time round, it's on again tonight (Friday June 27th 2008), 9:30pm on RTE 1. Haven't seen it myself so might have a look, though not a fan of Brendan O'Carroll or Oirishness in general...

reply

So this is a spin off film of Brendan O Carroll's character, Mrs Brown, now a hit tv show.

Who would have thunked!

Its that man again!!

reply

How could a 1999 movie be a spin-off of a TV show made in 2011?

The only connection is that both are about the same character

reply

'spin off film of Brendan O Carroll's character'

Brendan O Carroll's character started out on radio, then the stage and it was adapted into a film written by him.

Its that man again!!

reply

Brendan O'Carroll also put out his book "The Mummy" in 1999, which is much closer to what s depicted in the movie than his stage character (which I love, btw.)

reply

A character that's been going for 25 years by the way.

"Fellas, don't drink that coffee! There was a fish....... IN the percolator!"

reply

It's on RTE 1 again right now.

Just watched the beginning where she's applying for the pension and while I'm fine with Anjelica Huston as Agnes I can't help but side eyeing her friend and thinking that should be Winnie standing next to her, nodding earnestly.

reply

Winnie's in the film, she's played by the same actor as Cathy Browne in the TV show

reply

Not the Winnie people know and love though. Eilish O'Carroll is hilarious.
