Which version is better, the 1956 version or the 1999 version?

"Music comes from within, from your heart and from your soul."
Personally, I much preferred the 1956 version with yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr, and while this version wasn't a complete disaster, I like most people hated the plot changes.
Please read my user comments on both versions, and tell me which one you preferred. Also, feel free to ask any questions.
THE GOOD:(1999 version)
1. Anna Leonowens
2. the songs
3. Most of the animation
4. The end credits
5. One or two of the scenes were fairly faithful to the 1956 version
THE BAD:(1999 version)
1. The actor of the king was trying to replicate Yul Brynner and didn't succeed.
2. Anna and the king's romance was underveloped.
3. the kralahome was made into a rather stereotypical villain
4. Dodgy accents
5. Disneyfied animals
THE UGLY:(1999 version)
1. Master Little
2. The romance between the prince and Tuptim was so unneccessary
3. The sea dragon and the moving statues
4. They completely changed the ending
The only criticism I had of the 1956 version was that it was a little too long.
WHAT MAKES THE 1956 VERSION WORTH THE WATCH:
1. Yul Brynner
2. Deborah Kerr
3. their romance was beautifully told
4. The songs and score
5. the whole film looks beautiful
6. Tuptim's romance doesn't distract us from the focus of the film
7. The musical play
8. The choreography
9. the ending was so poignant
10. No disneyfied animals
