Thats messed up. Omar Epps did a good job with the role.

This was quite a gritty picture, just a bit more in depth and realistic than Kiss of Death (The updated version). Why they would censor out the ultra gritty fact that indeed, the real Jay Reed offed himself after a few years of regret and pain
is beyond me. Certainly it would have only added to the drama. The music was incredible in this movie...just incredible. But that's only is you're a hip-hop aficionado.(like Tupac said in the movie Bullet, "It's a black thing baby, you wouldn't understand" heh, heh ...the Nas head jam is one dope groove. I only wish they had included a short appendix at the end that showed the broken detective fall deeper and deeper into despair until he faced the ultimate tragedy of self-destruction. This movie was much better than it might seem on the surface. But the musical score was one of the best soundtracks around. Great Method Man joint in there. That guy always rocks me in that projects of New York way. Method Man IS the projects.
