Why don't the replicants remember....?

The humans were killed rather crudely by slitting their throats with a big alien knife. Presumably the replicants did that - so why don't they remember doing *that* and know who/what they are? I liked the movie a lot, and enjoyed it immensely, but after the fact...a lot of plot holes become apparent the more I think about it

I haven't read the book, so I am only guessing:

Maybe because they still are aliens (at least mentally) prior to killing who they are going to replicate and shortly thereafter.

They obviously don't remember leaving the ship there (or even where it is in the woods) or the fire or anything like that also.

Maybe at some point, once they are full replicants, they then only have the memories of the humans they replicated.

Yeah I kinda wondered about that too. Unless there was some sort of memory switch that triggered when they killed the real Olhams; I can't see how the impostors would simply "forget" what happened.

The movie has a plot hole?!?
EVERY FRIGGIN' MOVIE HAS A FRIGGIN' PLOT HOLE!!!!!

The Black Mirror Christmas special illustrates how this would work. It transfers a person's whole identity to a microchip.

I can't recommend that series enough.

I've only seen 2 episodes, the star trek one and the fighting game episode. You recommend the show?
