actress Sarah Polley
It was some time ago I saw THE SWEET HEREAFTER with Sarah Polley as a teen. The film as a whole rather impressed me, and I kept on seeing Atom Egoyan's films.
But besides GO and DAWN OF THE DEAD, which I liked but wasn't overwhelmed by, I hadn't seen Sarah Polley's acting talents. I also remember TH ADVENTURES OF BARON MUNCHHAUSEN, which was a nice fantasy film.
Last year I saw GUINEVERE, and yesterday I watched it again. The second time I got used to the story, not brand-new but made and acted so good that it can comunicate the unease and pain between the characters.
And I relocated Sarah Polley again. She was so very good here, with a marvellous range of emotions showing but not showing off, more looking very sincere. Against veteran and diehard actor Stephen Rea (still getting better each year, like good old cognac) she admirably played an uncertain young woman simply growing up.
Any such excellent performances make my days!
