I feel bad that no one really liked First Wave; I thought it had a few good things to offer.

In any case, do you know if it's ever been released on DVD?

Thanks for any info you may provide.

Funnily enuff, I think the opposite. Sliders was tacky and dull, First Wave was immensely entertaining (Sliders was a good premise, but a good premise does not equal a good show; the implementation was shid).

I agree,

I really love this show, for me its right up there with Odyssey 5 and it crushes shows with loose continuity like X-Files and such.

For me it was the right balance between a hidden threat, and journey of one man learning the lessons he needed to finally defeat them.

Every episode was like a lesson for him to learn for the final challenge he had with the Gua.

That one thread woven throughout the show gave it continuity and you saw over time Cade developing and getting his army of believers behind him.

There is no one show that has pulled this theme off as successfully as first wave without resorting to some strange super power wank or a guy with magical powers.

He is just one man, with a few shady skills (thief etc) he learnt to fight the system; a system has been corrupted and controlled by the aliens.

That’s why he was perfect for the job of saving the world, a world that was build to condemn people like him.

Very much like other great men who where never understood by the world, so he made the world understand him.

Ok, two of you have totally discredited yourselves for thinking Sliders, seasons 4 & 5 were the best. Season 4 was OK, season 5 was barely tolerable since nearly all the original actors were gone. The only reason to watch was that Maggie was easy on the eyes, haha. But pretty much, once it hit Sci Fi, it went down the drain. Seasons 1-3 on Fox with the original cast were the best and the adventures all seemed fresh and exciting.

As for First Wave, I believe it was one of Sci Fi's best shows. It had the mysterious element to it that made you want more. Seasons 1 & 2 were unique and had the greatest quality to a degree while season 3 was much more of the Raven Nation arc and story, which while good, could have been done better. And I do think that having Traci Lords on the show didn't exactly help, although I don't think it killed it either.

ya it was so the best show on sci-fi

Personally I enjoyed this show, but unfortunantly like most Sci-Fi series with mediocre ratings it got the can... I think this particullar series would have gone a lot better if it wasn't on around the height of the success of the X-Files or Millenium. First Wave always seemed to be in the shadow of these VERY successfull and long running series.
As Sci-Fi goes this series is was better than ANY reality tv series on at the moment and more to the point far superior to Lost which really does sucks (come on people realise that Lost sucks, bad acting bad storyline and they blew the ENTIRE budget on location shots thats why there weren't any special fx in whole crumby series)
I hope the bring it out on DVD because I only saw the the few episodes (dam Australia TV cancelled it after 8 episodes).

those of you who know david icke and his theory on reptillian agenda this movie fits perfectly with the reptillian agenda and the old 1980's movie 'V' both these movies are good examples of david ickes theories on the reptillians controlling our planet.
