DVD release news

DVD release coming soon :)
Here's the link to the news from tvshowsondvd.com (thanks guys!!!)

According to Amazon.ca it will be released by "Alliance" which if they use the same format as the newest releases of "Lexx" it means it probably won't be close-captioned nor have subtitles (...and maybe no extra features either?) Don't quote me though lol.

I'll be damned, a DVD release at last! Great news! I hope to order a copy of Ebay soon.

Any special features?
And any word on a seasons 2 and 3 release? I sure hope they won't stick to the first season only, considering the last two seasons were way better...

It's packed at the moment as I am getting ready to move, but from what I recall there were not any special features, just the episodes. As far as I know I haven't heard anything about the following seasons either. It just happened by chance that I saw it when I was walking by a shelf at Walmart, snapped it up pretty damn quick though haha

Too bad about no special features, but I wasn't expecting any anyway. I'm just glad the show's on DVD at all at this point.

I really, really want Seasons 2 and 3 on DVD. Alliance should finish what it started! Please...!

reply

Likewise, I knew I was just lucky to get the season on DVD, and special features would have been pushing that luck a little too far =P

I just received my copy. Looks good!

I'm gonna make a thread to get Alliance's attention. Hopefully.

Started watching. Too bad they censored the nude scenes in the first few episodes. They were pretty good. At least I still got them on VHS.

Well I'm damn glad years later well into the bluray era First Wave finally gets a release. Especially after so many horribly bad shows have been released on DVD. I do wish it received a proper high quality release and on bluray though. However, thanks to Alliance for at least giving us this much.

Compliments: FINALLY someone released First Wave on DVD. Please continue to release season 2 and 3 I will buy them.

Complaints: Quality is lackluster, film has mosquito noise and the sound is only in 2.0 stereo. Also contains no extras, this is completely bare bones.

Even so it's far better than PVR recordings off of broadcast. But comparing it to Fox's X-Files release and First Wave pales in comparison. Don't let me deter you too much though if you enjoyed this show it is still perfectly watchable far better then the PVR's floating around the net.

THANK YOU ALLIANCE! PLEASE release the next two seasons and hopefully it will prove to have been popular enough for a high quality re-mastering release with 5.1 surround and preferably on Bluray.

Question: Where or what channel broadcast that with nudity? Surely not SyFy...

reply

In Holland, the uncensored episodes were broadcast on BNN, a channel focused on (horny) young adults.
