I agree, it isn't the best movie, but it's still funny for what it is, it should have gotten atleast a 5.

It ain't a FILM, it ain't Bergman, it's a MOVIE, and a very funny one!!!

Just Alfred Molina and Eric Idle's performances deserve at least a 7.

reply

I think it's worth at least 6.

I love this movie! Why such a low rating? It's a Laugh Riot!

I think you're all being a bit generous with this movie. I wanted to rate it, but negative 10 stars wasn't available.

A 3.6 for this movie is overly generous. It deserves a 0.1 at the most.

Exactly! Sarah the Talking Mule as Nell!!? Hee Haw!! Hee Haw!!

Man, watching it now and it's just great mindless humor. 3.9 for a story. 9 for silly fun. BTW, I'm 59 years old.

I don't know, any movie that has

-A town called Semi-Happy Valley
-999 of the dumbest criminals on earth all working for one man
-The villain building a private mini-putt club and wearing that ridiculous pom-pom golfing outfit
-The hero sculpting his girl out of a hedge while the bad guy's string quartet plays dramatic, hero-suited music in the background.
-A how-to guide to heroism, as instructed by Eric Idle.
-Sobre Natives (had to throw a shot in there; it's all in good fun :P)
-The line 'That's not fair! They've got rocks! All we've got is machine guns!'. For that matter, all of Snidely's dialogue.
-Brenden Fraser.

Any movie that has all that deserves a 5 if nothing else. 3.6 is an atrocity :D

-"Denny Crane"

I am 53 and this is a live version of the cartoon Dudley Do-Right when we were kids. The cartoon was silly, as was this movie. I give it a 10 as this is pretty much how I remembered Dudley Do-Right. I might be generous, as I watch movies for the enjoyment and don't try and pick apart everything about a movie, like a lot of posters that come to these boards. OK maybe a 9.9, no movie is perfect.

I have 2 sets of twin boys, Pete & Repete and Mark & Remarkable

I normally try to sit out a movie even if I sense it is not to my liking. But I had to switch this one off after about ten or fifteen minutes. I found myself cringing into some pit of agitated madness. It wasn't funny. The characters were annoying. Actually, it wasn't even my movie choice. My missus loves her sex in the city and when she saw SJP was going to be in the movie, she insisted on watching it. After a quarter of an hour of torture, I turned to see my partner suffering the similar cringe-worthy spasm I was going through. So it was switched off immediately and officially gets my first one star rating!! Congratulations! I don't even think the 'Wizard of Speed and Time' was as bad.......If you liked this movie, watch that.

You people are lame. This movie is funny, in a stupid way.

I give it 10 purely for casting. Brendan Frasier, Alred Molina, Eric Idle, Sarah Jessica Parker. Awesome cast, plus the movie is hilarious. The fact that this is so kid friendly is an added bonus.

Impulse: I want a lawyer!
Lex: And I want a Ponytail, disappointment abounds!

You have got to be kidding me! This movie is the funniest thing for several reasons.
Okay, i'll admit, Sara Jessica Parker is lame and it was indeed a silly movie. But the best one in its genre, in my opinion!
Snidely Whiplash's one-liners alone make this movie worth at least 8 stars!
I mean, : " Tango, Delta, Foxtrot...Let's dance!". COME ON!!
This is a typical "either you like it or you don't" kida movie, though.

I've got so much brass up my ass, that I can play the Star Spangled Banner!
