Anyone
Anyone else like this as much as me?
shareThis is one of my favorite movies of all time. I gave it a 10 out of 10. I cried when I first saw it in theatres. I really thought that Nello had _____. (I don't want to spoil it for everyone else, although I doubt many people come to this board.) Send me a PM and we'll talk about it.

I thought the movie was GREAT ! What is a PM ??

shareI love this movie. Usually I don't really like movies involving dogs (being a cat-lover myself), but I'll make an exception for A DOG OF FLANDERS, as it's hardly about the dog at all. Instead, it's a warm human drama about love, forgiveness, imagination, and following your dreams. Michele Le Grand (Jon Voigt) is my favorite character.
sharei loved it! jeremy james kissner is amazing, how old was he when they filmed this, because he looks about maybe 10ish, but if i did the math right hes 14, but there is no was he is 14 in this movie, hes so little
share1999 - Jeremy would be 13 or 14. I think that he plays Nello at age 12/13.
shareThis story is super famous in Japan. It's told as the original, not altered ending like this movie or even books published in US.
I think Nello in the original book is 15yo.
this used to be my favourite movie, i watched it over and over agian, i jsut recently found it in my VHS collection and watched it again, still jsut as great as the first thousand times i watched it.
I saw the last half of this movie early this am, I hope to catch the whole
thing next showing. I loved it!!!
I've seen this movie 3 times already and I've yet to see the beginning! I always miss at least the first 30 minutes. >_<
Is it just me, or does anyone else find tears in their eyes when Nello returns the money to the Cogez's and leaves without any food or Patrasche? That's my favorite part!

Allan: Oh, this one again? How clever.
I liked this film for what it was, but I don't like the idea that we are force fed happy endings that detour from the original story. Both this version and the 1960 version are guilty of this.
Secondly, this version pretty much minimalizes Patrasche which further fails as a proper telling of the story.
Too bad, a good cast and decent budget should have resulted in a much better movie.

Put your pants on, Spartacus!
I remember when this came out in the movies, and it was the first movie that made me cry. I was 9 at the time, and I had a huge crush on Nello, and yes I liked it very much and had it on video, but I haven't seen it in forever. I'd like to see it again

I totally disagree. We all loved it and wish there were more films this good around. I am dying of cancer and this helped me tell my children that there is life after death.
shareI give it five stars also! Wonderful film. Wished I'd seen it with my family when it first came out. Just got it from a friend on DVD as a gift! I recommend it to everyone!
Michele Johnson
No, I agree. Loved the film and that part especially made me tear up!
shareYou need to watch the whole thing from the begining. I have many times with family and friends and everyone loved it. Bought it as gifts on DVD to give to people who want to really be touched at the holidays. Hollywood needs to make films this powerful much more. Great for the whole family!!!! 5 stars!!!
J. Stephens
Yes, I and our extended family cried! It is a beautiful and touching film!
