The match pack...

How did Sly know who it was (the killer), when he looked at the burning match pack with "Donovan's" inscribed on it? I don't get it. The mouthy dude at that party in the beginning sorta looked like the killer, whose name I can't remember. But that same mouthpiece was killed shortly afterwards in his house after the party.
