Why was Cameron Diaz billed ahead of Drew Barrymore?

I don't know if Cameron was considered a bigger box office draw at the time, but Drew for all intents and purposes, spearheaded the project and had been in the movie business much longer than Cameron. Plus in hindsight, Drew is a bigger name since Cameron has pretty much been retired since 2014.
