deleted scenes: tv broadcast vs dvd

The first time I saw this movie was on tv and there were one or more scenes early on where they're still introducing Angel and she has a doll she treats as her real baby (at her house and in the park). My DVD copy does not contain these (awesome?) scenes. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Or why they deleted them since it increases the awesomeness of the final scene [I won't further spoil the reason]?

I can't even imagine why those scenes wouldn't be available on DVD. They illustrate how tenuous her grip is on reality at this stage of her life. That makes the later development of her character all the more interesting.

It was on tv last night and there are definitely two cuts, the tv version and the DVD version. Originally I was going to speculate that maybe the DVD version is the director's cut and he wanted Angel to seem more quirky than crazy, but I just checked and the director also wrote it, so I'm out of ideas. Though now I think I'm also starting to prefer the less-crazy version of Angel. I'd love the chance to make my own cut of the film. :D

Oh, and the tv version obviously cut the nudity scenes.

Seems like blasphemy to cut those scenes. They provide context to the character which is why her transformation is so drastic.
